The feeling of anger appears in four stages which are the buildup, the ignition, the burst and the after effects. In every stage there are always things that can stimulate your feeling and this is the reason your have to immediately divert your attention so the feeling of anger burning in your heart do not become aggravated.

Effects of Anger on Health

Although anger is a characteristic which must be have by a person, uncontrollable anger can bring more loss than goodness.

Anger can cause several psychological and physiological effects. In an anger situation, voice change and muscle become tight; then can give effects toward health such as:

  • Increase of blood pressure
  • Heart problems – When angry, heart pumps faster. If the heart already has problems, a person can easily experience heart attack.

Anger, a Strong Power that Can Be Used Positively or Negatively

When confronting uncomfortable situation, we have choices to feel angry, or face it open mind and heart.

Anger is a normal reaction owned by every people and it is needed to make us become braver to face challenges.

Dr Tim Murphy, an American psychology consultant, defined anger as a strong reaction stimulated by negative feeling and ends by several behaviors which often are not appropriate with the situation.

Anger: Characteristics and Categories of Anger

A person attitude can be determined by his reaction when he is angry. It can be divided into six categories which are:

  1. Passive: A passive individual will attempt to evade things that can raise conflicts. They will not show their dissatisfaction. They are also hard to say ‘no’ without feeling guilty and avoid hurting other people feelings. They also will avoid making other people angry, uncomfortable or nervous. A passive individual tends to store their anger to themselves.
