Work Stress Can Increase the Risk of Stroke
An eleven years research done in Japan reported that work stress can increase the risk of stroke significantly.
Based on observation of 3,190 volunteers of men and 3,363 volunteers of women from various career backgrounds, researchers found that 147 volunteers were attacked by stroke.
From the amount, 91 were men and the rest were women. This research concluded that men who experience high stress at work place face double the risk of stroke compared to women.
Social Activities Can Protect Against Dementia
A research done in Sweden has shown that active social activities can protect a person from dementia.
This is because social activities are claimed can reduce stress experienced, and then reduces up to half of the risk of dementia for men or women.
The social activity meant is to spend time chatting or having fun with family and friends. It does not include crime activities or taking alcohols or drugs.
Leaving Breakfast Can Cause Obesity
Other than eating mindlessly and lack of exercising factors which often have been discussed, many did not know that stress and irregular eating schedule, especially not taking breakfast are among two contributors to the increase of bodyweight problem especially when the age of a person enters the door of 30s.
Research done by Harvard University on 1,355 men and women (starting 1995 to 2004) found that the measurement of women waistline (and bodyweight) are influenced by several causes of stress, including family, career, financial problems and the helplessness feeling because of life obstacles.
